RE: Request for a presidential executive order surrounding the National Museum of African American Religions desiring National African American History to be electronically archived

In August of 2003 the Smithsonian Institute sponsored a bill PUBLIC LAW 108–184 117 STAT. 2677, (http://www.imls.gov/pdf/AfricanAmericanAct.pdf), that was passed by the United States Congress and Senate on December 16, 2003. Congress wrote it into public law acknowledging the non-existence of a National African American Museum in Washington, D.C celebrating the rich history of African Americans to America’s history. As of today the Smithsonian has received funding to construct the building in the next 6 years and have developed an electronic museum on-line at www.nmaahc.si.edu/.

The Smithsonian Institute mentioned in this bill that their success in collecting, archiving and displaying African American history will take a large collaborative effort with the African American community’s museums, historically black Colleges, and libraries to obtain national input for this project. The National Museum of African American Religions www.museumafricanamericanreligions.org has developed an On-Line Museum of African American Religions to gain support from the largest market segment in American (25 Million) the Black Church, which embodies 30 of the largest religious organizations to take a proactive role in helping to organize African American institutions engagement in a dialogue to support the archiving electronically of our history in America to join with the effort of the Smithsonian Institute and the United States government’s acknowledgement of our historical contributions to America.

The Black Church and African American Religions is rooted and interwoven in the very fabric of our story of historical struggle and a vital part of the back drop imagery of African American life and culture. It became our strength down through the annals of time and our cultural stability and legacy reflecting the breath and unexplainable depth of those of African descent who died and have gone on before us from slavery until this present. She was the cradle of our confidence, and she gave birth as the midwife in the secret places of plantations, slums, and urban ghettos to some of our greatest and brightest African American leaders and was the foundation of some of our greatest athletics, musical artist, and entertainment talent in this world’s history.

The National Museum of African American Religions was organized and incorporated with a 501 C 3 Federal exempt statuses in 1998. The founder of the organization, Rev. Elijah Hill has spent twenty years as a religious historian studying, documenting and archiving African American religious history throughout America. The founder has matriculated through MidAmerica Nazarene University in Olathe, Kansas with two degrees that will assist him and his staff in establishing this kind of multi-economically complimentary neo-age museum with a Masters in Business Administration and a Masters in Educational Technology, and with thirty-five years in gospel ministry experience to bring success to this venture. He has the astute business acumen with the insight into the pulse of the broader national African American religious community.

The location of choice to build the National Museum of African American Religions will be within the city of Chicago, Illinois within the next 5 years we are joining the United States Congress and Senate in their vision. The city of Chicago is centrally located in the United States, and is home to several of the 30 major religions that will display religious history within this museum site, and home to the famous DuSable Museum. Here are several economic benefits to the Chicago business and religious communities. The main marketing and fundraising concept will be to bring many of the African American Religious conventions to Chicago for the purpose of seeing their history all centrally located in one museum. This has never been done before that 30 of the largest traditional African American religions that affect 25 Million African Americans nationally will have a location where their history can be displayed in one museum. Most traditional religious organization’s conventions are from 20,000-40,000 strong and will bring an influx increase of economic stimulus by each convention bringing in from 5 Million to 20 Million dollars in revenue in one week increments to strengthen the Chicago business communities.

The vision of the museum will impact the Chicago community and America in four unique ways establishing a large influx of tourism from the religious world throughout America to view Chicago as their historic home and establish an electronic depository for African American history. This will result in an increase in Millions of tourism dollars that will have a positive impact upon businesses in the Chicago metropolis.

Our vision secondly will be to house within this proposed National Museum of Religious History a physical national library of rare historical books on religious African American history that future scholars, historians, academias, and students can travel here to Chicago for dissertation studies and historical religious history research connecting universities throughout America to Chicago’s own and America’s only national historical electronic research center. In addition to this physical library the second attractive feature will be the above mentioned electronic library component to preserve for future generations in America the rich national African America history electronically items like our publications, photos, documents, newspapers, therefore Chicago will become the signature national home to African American electronic history depository to assist African American Museums throughout the United States in preserving the history of those of African descent who died and have gone on before us from slavery until this present carrying on our legacy and historical struggles enduring storylines, which transformed with God as our strength our negative circumstances into positive victories for our people and America for future generations to celebrate and ponder.

The third vision of the museum will be to implement a technology training center for youth and adults to educate them on how to develop high tech jobs. They will be trained on software like graphics, developing games, producing movies, movie scripts, architectural designs, electronic publishing, music production, all areas of the entertainment industry, and have a mentorship with all industries that will provide contracts with these students after their completion of a one year program.

The fourth our annual fund raiser the National Clergy Awards Show this television show will draw and bring together the ecumenical community throughout America to come to celebrate the African American church community as the Emmy, Grammy and Stellar awards shows. Our focus will be for Chicago to be the home of this show that will celebrate the oldest and the riches independent institution owned by African Americans in America today.
